HOW IS BLACK ONYX FORMED?
While most stones that we come across today are formed within the earth's crust, Black Onyx is actually formed within magmatic rock and is considered to be a microcrystalline quartz rock. When silica is deposited within volcanic gas cavities, Black Onyx begins to form. Black Onyx can also be formed within caves, other types of bedrock, limestone or even on the earth's surface through spring water or groundwater. Anywhere that mineral laden groundwater flows, you'll be able to find Onyx.
DOES BLACK ONYX HAVE ANY HEALING BENEFITS?
While a lot of Black Onyx is used for kitchen counter tops, it is said that the Black Onyx stone is also widely used in conjunction with balancing your inner energies. It is also believed that this particular stone helps lessen headache symptoms, while being beneficial for teeth, bones, bone marrow and blood disorders.
